Editing

SPECIAL: Through January and February, I’m offering a special rate of one cent per word or less if I accept your manuscript for editing. Of course, first I’ll do a completely FREE sample edit. If you’re serious about the craft of writing, send your complete manuscript via email attachment in MS Word (.docx, .doc, or .rtf) to h_stanbrough@yahoo.com for a free sample edit.

• Novel, memoir or short fiction collections only, please
• Absolutely NO rough drafts
• Absolutely NO present-tense narrative, regardless of genre or which fad is currently in fashion
• Absolutely NO rough drafts (e.g., manuscripts replete with spelling errors, comma splices and/or run-on sentences
• I reserve the right to reject any manuscript for any reason

Note: These restrictions apply only to my editing service, not to my eformatting service.

I’ll do a full, complete edit of a few to several pages and send it back to you within a day or two. If I’m interested, I’ll set a low per-word fee. (NOTE: For the months of January and February 2012, that fee will be one cent per word or less.) If not, I’ll refer you to any of several other editors who might be a better match for you. I will provide references from former and current editing clients on request.
